Combining Model Checking and Deduction for I/O-Automata

چکیده
We propose a combination of model checking and interactive theorem proving where the theorem prover is used to represent nite and in nite state systems reason about them compositionally and reduce them to small nite systems by veri ed abstractions As an example we verify a version of the Alternating Bit Protocol with unbounded lossy and duplicating channels the channels are abstracted by interactive proof and the resulting nite state system is model checked

A short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving
In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...
متن کاملVerification of Hybrid Controlled Processing Systems based on Decomposition and Deduction
While formal verification has been successfully used to analyze several academic examples of controlled hybrid systems, the application to real-world processing systems is largely restricted by the complexity of modeling and computation. This contribution aims at improving the applicability by using decomposition and deduction techniques: A given system is first decomposed into a set of physica...
متن کاملVerification of Timed Automata Using Rewrite Rules and Strategies
ELAN is a powerful language and environment for specifying and prototyping deduction systems in a language based on rewrite rules controlled by strategies. Timed automata is a class of continuous real-time models of reactive systems for which efficient model-checking algorithms have been devised. In this paper, we show that these algorithms can very easily be prototyped in the ELAN system. This...
متن کاملModular Analysis of Discrete Controllers for Distributed Hybrid Systems
The algorithmic analysis of control systems for large and distributed hybrid systems is considerably restricted by its computational complexity. In order to enable the verification of discrete controllers for such hybrid systems, this contribution proposes an approach that combines decomposition, model checking and deduction. The system under examination is first decomposed into a set of module...
متن کاملA Verification Environment for I / O Automata – Part II : Theorem Proving and Model Checking – Olaf
We describe a veriication framework for I/O automata in Isabelle. It includes a temporal logic, proof support for showing implementation relations between live I/O automata, and a combination of Isabelle with model checking via a veriied abstraction theory. The underlying domain-theoretic sequence model turned out to be especially adequate for these purposes. Furthermore, using a tailored combi...
